Sump pump ?'s

Is your sump pump running continuously? Unless you have recently had crazy rainstorms, your sump pump should not run continuously. Most likely, the float is stuck in the "full" position - which means the pump thinks it needs to be running. What can you do about it?

1) If you have easy access to the pump, take the cover off and release the float from its stuck position.
2) Dump a few buckets of water (or use a hose) to fill up the sump until the water level raises the float out of its stuck position. Most times, the float will then work normally.
3) Find a resource below or call an expert.
